Old Tokaido Road

The old Tokaido road was the most important route during the Edo period. It was a 495km journey between Tokyo (Nihonbashi bridge) and Kyoto (Gojo Ohashi bridge). The road leads directly through Hakone, where parts of the road are still remain.
